I remember Eakin. I was drunk in the morning on my day off and I saw these VNAF helicopters landing into the soccer field. One after each one they offloaded these casualties, they were killed in an action nearby, at Omon, I believe. I remember crying as I saw the dead soldier's remains was taken away by the relatives. That was the ceremony. I have photos of that day. I used to go to the PX and the chow hall at Eakin, even though I was USAF. Anson Barnes.
